At OP Implant Dental, Dr. Andrew Mancin helps patients across the Kansas City area achieve their perfect smile with custom-made shells that look and feel natural.
What Are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored material that cover the front surface of your teeth. Think of them as a new face for your smile.
These custom-made shells fix many dental conditions all at once.

Porcelain veneers are the most popular choice. They resist stains and last longer than other options.
Composite resin veneers cost less but don’t last as long.
Dr. Mancin and his team will help you pick the best option for your needs and budget during your first visit.
Why Overland Park Residents Choose Veneers
Your smile matters more than you might think.
According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, nearly all adults (99.7%) believe a smile is an important social asset.
Even more surprising? Research shows that 96% of adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to the opposite sex, and 74% of people believe an unattractive smile can hurt career success.
A bright smile opens doors. It helps you feel good about yourself. It makes other people want to talk to you. But not everyone feels happy with their natural teeth. That’s where veneers come in.
Benefits of Veneers That Make a Real Difference
Dental veneers fix many problems at once:
Hide Imperfections Fast: Veneers cover misshapen teeth, gaps, and discoloration in just two visits. No need for years of treatment.
Look Natural: Modern porcelain veneers match your natural tooth structure perfectly. Nobody will know you have them unless you tell them.
Long-Lasting Results: Studies show that porcelain veneers have a 93.5% chance of staying intact for up to 10 years, with an 82.93% survival rate after 20 years. With proper care, your new smile will last for decades.
Stain Resistant: Unlike natural tooth enamel, porcelain veneers don’t stain easily. Your bright smile stays bright even if you drink coffee or tea.
Boost Your Confidence: When you love your smile, you smile more. You feel better about yourself in photos and social situations.

The Veneer Process: Simple and Fast
Getting your new veneers takes just two visits to OP Implant Dental:
First Visit: Planning Your Perfect Smile
During your first appointment, you will meet Sunee, your friendly guide and advisor.
Then, during your meeting with Dr. Mancin, we will:
- Examine your oral health and discuss your smile goals
- Create your custom treatment plan
- Remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth (usually less than a millimeter)
- Take impressions or digital scans of your teeth
- Place temporary veneers to protect your teeth
This tooth reduction is necessary so your new veneers sit flush with your natural teeth. Don’t worry – the amount of tooth enamel removed is very small. Plus, your temporaries will cover this too.

Second Visit: Your New Smile Reveal
About two weeks later, you’ll return for your second visit. Dr. Mancin will:
- Remove your temporary veneers
- Check the fit and color of your new porcelain veneers
- Bond the veneers to the front of the tooth using special cement
- Make final adjustments for your comfort
You’ll walk out with your new smile the same day!
What Can Veneers Fix?
Veneers solve many common dental problems:
- Crooked teeth that don’t need braces
- Misshapen teeth from genetics or injury
- Gaps between teeth
- Chips and cracks on the front surface of your teeth
- Stubborn stains that teeth whitening can’t fix
- Worn down teeth from grinding
- Uneven teeth that make your smile look off-balance
If you have any of these issues, smile makeover treatment might be perfect for you.
How Long Do Veneers Last?
One of the most common questions patients ask is about veneer longevity. The good news? Veneers last a long time with proper care.
Research from multiple studies shows impressive results: 96% of veneers lasted 5 years, 93% lasted 10-11 years, and 83% lasted up to 20 years.
The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry reports that adults aged 31-40 and baby boomers are most likely to seek cosmetic dentistry, and they’re seeing these long-lasting results firsthand.
Your veneers can last even longer if you:
- Brush twice daily and floss once per day
- Visit OP Implant Dental for professional cleanings every six months
- Avoid biting hard objects like ice, pens, and fingernails
- Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth
- Protect your smile with a mouth guard during sports
Veneers vs. Other Options
Veneers are commonly used in combination with other dental treatments.

Veneers vs. Teeth Whitening
Professional teeth whitening only changes the color of your teeth. Veneers fix color AND shape, size, and alignment problems.
If you have deep stains from medications or root canals, teeth whitening won’t help. But veneers will.
Veneers vs. Crowns & Bridges
Dental crowns cover the entire tooth and require more tooth removal. Veneers only cover the front of your teeth and preserve more of your natural tooth structure.
Crowns & Bridges work better for damaged teeth. Veneers work better for cosmetic improvements.
Veneers vs. Dental Implants
Dental implants replace missing teeth completely, including the root. Veneers cover existing, healthy teeth.
If you have missing teeth, you might need implants. If you have teeth with cosmetic problems, veneers are the answer.
Proper Care Keeps Your Veneers Looking Great
Taking care of your veneers is easy. Treat them like your natural teeth:
Daily Oral Hygiene: Brush at least twice per day with a soft toothbrush. Floss every day to keep your gums healthy. Good oral health protects both your veneers and the teeth underneath.
Regular Dental Visits: See Dr. Mancin every six months for professional cleanings and checkups. These visits catch small problems before they become big ones.
Protect Your Investment: Don’t use your teeth as tools. Don’t bite fingernails or open packages with your teeth. If you play contact sports, wear a mouth guard.
Watch Your Diet: While porcelain veneers resist stains better than natural teeth, very dark foods and drinks can still affect the cement over time. Rinse your mouth after coffee, red wine, or dark sodas.

Real Results You Can See
Check out our 5-Star reviews below from OP Implant Dental satisfied patients.
I would definitely recommend if you're looking to get any dental work done.
His staff is professional and very knowledgeable, you can tell that they care about the patient and making sure to address any concern or questions you may have before or after your procedure. It is always a relief that after you have something done like this that you made the right decision to go with this office. I research Dr’s before I'm to have any type of surgery to make sure for the best outcome when you hear of people who have had not a good outcome.
One last comment about his reviews from other people, you can not give a office a negative or poor review because you couldn’t get financed, that’s not their responsibility, and doesn’t reflect on their ability to preform the dental work.
The rooms are all nice and clean, I highly recommend OC Implant Dental, it is all around the best dental office I have been to!
