Pain

Pain is what bring patients to the dental office. You are not alone! The team at OP Implant Dental care about making you pain free. Whether is a cracked or broken tooth or a failing root canal, Dr. Mancin can get you out of pain by removing the source.

Swelling

Swelling is very dangerous and potentially life threatening. Swelling in and around the eyes or throat pose the most serious threat and need to be addressed immediately. At OP Implant Dental, we can not emphasize enough how important it is to make an appointment ASAP!

Infection

Infection needs to be taken seriously. The pus that drains from the tooth infection goes into the rest of your body. This is dangerous and should be addressed immediately! Very often, after an extraction, antibiotics are necessary to heal the infection.

Sedation during the extraction

A lot of patients are nervous to remove a tooth. To help manage the anxiety, Dr. Mancin and his clinical team offer oral sedation (taking a couple of pills before your appointment) or IV sedation during your appointment. If you’re experiencing severe tooth pain, our tooth extraction in Overland Park can help relieve discomfort and prevent further complications.

Ignoring your problem tooth

When you have a tooth ache, you are hoping that the pain, swelling, and infection will one day go away. However, this is not a good bet to make. Infections do not heal on their own, swelling will only increase, and the pain will become unbearable. Broken tooth extraction costs are very low. Call today and stop ignoring the problem!

Our Extraction Process

When you come to OP Implant Dental for a tooth extraction, you’ll be cared for from start to finish. As Dr. Mancin describes it, we will begin with a thorough evaluation and explain your treatment in simple terms. During the procedure, we use gentle methods and offer sedation to keep you comfortable. Afterward, we guide you through healing and discuss next steps like dental implants—to restore your smile. Below is a more detailed description of our extraction treatment.

1. Initial Look: Exam & X-Ray

We start with an exam and X-ray to check for infection. If the tooth is “hot,” we’ll prescribe antibiotics first to ensure proper numbing before extraction.

2. Replacement Options

Before the extraction, we’ll review replacement options like bone grafting, implants, bridges, or partial dentures. In some cases, treatment can begin the same day.

3. Numbing & Sedation Options

Before the procedure, we numb the area with local anesthesia. You may feel a quick pinch, but after that, you won’t feel the extraction. Complete sedation is an add-on.

4. Extraction Treatment

The extraction depends on the tooth. A simple extraction involves loosening and removing the tooth quickly. If it’s broken, a surgical approach may be needed to remove it in sections.

5. Post Treatment Recovery

After the extraction, you’ll receive clear post-op instructions. Expect some soreness for about a week, and stick to soft foods while avoiding straws, smoking, and carbonation for the first couple of days.

6. Follow up Visit & Care

Dr. Mancin wants you to return in one week so we can check healing, evaluate any grafting, and make sure there are no complications. This visit is included with the original treatment
